So… you think you can un-watermark?

A few days ago, a colleague shared this:

Watermark?

I’ll be nice and not comment on the haphazardly done faux-”floor” that looks like someone just bled to death on the entire set. Maybe someone forgot to clean up after himself? Stock photo geeks would know that the familiar watermark over the puzzle pieces tells us that the photo is from iStockphoto. I did a quick search using the keywords “jigsaw puzzle” but apparently somebody did a good job in using one that isn’t easily searchable. And besides, I don’t like the idea of spending the entire day going through over a thousand images just to find the exact photo.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for free (and nice) stuff. But I also believe that when you do something not legal, you’d make all the effort not to get caught.

The words “copyright” and “infringement” come to mind.

Hmmm… (and other things you’d rather not know about)

I return from yet another biblically long hiatus with a home computer with RAM modules that have gone so bad, you’d consider giving it a glass of one of those memory enhancer milk drinks. Now I can’t take on outside projects. Tsk. And to think that just a few weeks ago, I had problems with moisture build-up INSIDE the rig, thanks to the recent drastic changes in weather… though little rats with poor bladder control were the initial suspects.

In other news, here’s something that an officemate shared to us this morning (you’d have to click the thumbnails to see the full video because I’m too lazy to embed them here):

Vodafone "Street"
Vodafone “Street” · JWT London, 2006

COKE/BUHAY COKE
Coke/Buhay Coke · McCann-Erickson, 2008

Hmmm… ’nuff said.
