Was it all yellow?

I just thought I’d share this. It’s a song written by my uncle a few decades ago entitled “Maynila”.

Back then, whenever my folks would listen to it, I get lost trying to find its meaning, being a kid and all at that time. I’d usually forward it to the next song which I found to be more amusing. A few years before that, I vaguely remember being smothered with all kinds of yellow paraphernalia that had the name “NINOY” on them; made to stand in one corner, and have my picture taken by my uncle or my dad. It’s one of the few memories that I managed to dig up from the deepest recesses of my mind. Here’s a photo I found somewhere deep within my grandmother’s baul:

Jam Sessions @ MJ’s Kitchen

UPDATE: A map from wikimapia.org. Now you won’t have the “I can’t find the venue” alibi. :)

After what seemed like a decade-long hiatus, I’m posting entries again — and, hopefully, not just shameless plugs like this. And here’s my temporary New Year (and Chinese New Year) entry: “Hello 2009!”

Hmmm… (and other things you’d rather not know about)

I return from yet another biblically long hiatus with a home computer with RAM modules that have gone so bad, you’d consider giving it a glass of one of those memory enhancer milk drinks. Now I can’t take on outside projects. Tsk. And to think that just a few weeks ago, I had problems with moisture build-up INSIDE the rig, thanks to the recent drastic changes in weather… though little rats with poor bladder control were the initial suspects.

In other news, here’s something that an officemate shared to us this morning (you’d have to click the thumbnails to see the full video because I’m too lazy to embed them here):

Hmmm… ’nuff said.

CCM!: Day One - India Street

I was jolted from deep slumber by the sound of hastily made footsteps. I stared at the ceiling and realized that I was not in my room. After a quick recount of the events that happened the previous day, I gathered that I was in another country, in my uncle’s house, in my cousin’s room, on a queen size mattress which I got from my uncle after getting a slightly used one from one of his Filipino friends who wanted to get rid it.

I went downstairs and saw my uncle and my aunt having breakfast, while my cousin Miko zoomed around the place getting ready for school and Jaf was playing the piano. After having a quick cup of coffee (I didn’t even comb my hair, not that it needed it anyway xD), my uncle asked me to go with him to drive Miko to school. He was already opening the gate when I came back from washing (short of splashing water on) my face.

It was only until I sat on the passenger seat that I came to realize how beautiful the sky was that morning.
